B illionaire businesswoman Alice Walton amassed a fortune because her father’s company With the November 2011 opening of the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art, however, Alice Walton is making a new name for herself—and also putting Bentonville, Ark., population 35,000, on the map. With one-fourth of its collection from Walton’s personal holdings, the museum is one of only a handful of its size and caliber in the U.S. helped Americans buy merchandise for less.
