designate a class coordinator from each class to contact everyone in her group to verify each person’s information. Be sure to report updates to National Headquarters. SELECT A THEME Reunion themes don’t have to be limited to chapter or pledge class anniversaries. Think back to those themed sorority parties, and fun memories will begin to inspire ideas. Homecoming weekends are always a good place to start, or how about a cruise for spring break? Keep it local, return to campus or find a great destination to visit. Check the community calendar to see if there is a fun run/walk or other activity on the same weekend as the reunion and participate as a group or team. HOORAY FOR THE HOO-HAHS Delta Lambda-Georgia Southern alumnae participate in a 5K run/walk, a special event added to the group’s fourth annual reunion. The previous year, member Libby Hull Malphrus was diagnosed with cervical cancer and created the organization “Help the Hoo-Hahs.” The Delta Lambda team dubbed themselves the Hoo-Hahs and walked/ran in support of Libby and all women who are at risk of gynecological cancers. COMMUNICATION Once the dates have been chosen, send a “save the date” postcard by email and/or standard mail with the following information: dates, activities, times, location, attire and reservation/ registration information. Be sure to have a KD logo and return address with “Return Service Requested” printed on all postal mailings. If the mailing address is wrong, the postal service will return it with the new address information, if available. The KD logo will help ensure the mail piece is not mistaken for junk mail. It is helpful to provide printed maps with written directions to each activity. If the reunion facility is not a hotel, provide a list of accommodations that are close to the reunion event location. Creating a reunion website is a great way to draw interest and attendance. Google sites is a free and easy way to create a website and share photos, calendars and news. Webs.com offers free web hosting and free website builder tools as well. Websites such as new.evite.com or mypunchbowl. com are useful tools for sending out invitations using email addresses. GOLDEN DAYS It’s back to campus for alumnae who were initiated into Mu chapter from the early to mid-1960s. The 2011 reunion was held during Millsaps College's Homecoming and provided alumnae with an opportunity to reminisce about their college days, including the chapter’s 50th anniversary event. The group plans to reunite in 2014 to celebrate Mu chapter’s 100th anniversary.
