FISCAL YEAR AUG. 1, 2016, TO JULY 31, 2017 AN EXCERPT FROM THE NATIONAL PRESIDENT' S REPORT BY ALISON JAKES ARGERSINGER, NATIONAL PRESIDENT 2015-2017 National Council embarked on a strategic planning process focusing on both the collegiate and alumnae membership experiences. Fiscal responsibility is an important aspect of the strategic planning process. The National Council continues to evaluate the effectiveness of all activities and the use of resources matched against the current priorities of the organization. Financially, Kappa Delta is on sound footing thanks to the continued prudent management of our financial resources, expenditures and your gifts to the foundation. Chapter support, training for chapter leaders and advisors, and chapter housing continued to be priorities. After a boom in recruitment numbers in the past 10 years, the numbers are trending down to normal levels. Extension opportunities are decreasing, while the cost of establishing new chapters continues to rise. All National Panhellenic Conference member groups are united in our effort to remain single-sex organizations. Together, we are addressing sexual assault and hazing on campuses and advocating for the Collegiate Housing Infrastructure Act. Our focus on strategic planning is vital. While we meet the challenges of today, the National Council strives to keep Kappa Delta relevant for the future while maintaining our founding principles and values.
