Strategic Plan

2017-04-13 01:46:48

POSITIONING KAPPA DELTA FOR A STRONG FUTURE Following Kappa Delta' s standard practices, in June 2016, the National Council, led by National President Alison Jakes Argersinger, began working with a professional consulting firm to develop a strategic plan to position the organization for success over the next five to 10 years. The goal is to create a comprehensive plan to ensure the sorority remains relevant and true to its foundational principles in an ever-changing world. Ongoing media scrutiny (including social media) as well as university pressures, risk management concerns, increased government regulations and changes in technology and volunteer availability dictate that the organization be responsive and nimble. The National Council gathered input and feedback from all areas of the organization and its membership and assigned teams of volunteers and staff to explore several priorities. A quality membership experience has always been, and will continue to be, the focus of the sorority. It is not surprising that two key areas of focus were identified: • collegiate Experience • alumnae experience Underpinning these main focus areas are five enabling priorities that are critical to lay the foundation to carry out a strategic plan and ensure the success of the organization. These were defined as: • planning, prioritizing and executing • organizational model • technology • key processes • PR, communications and marketing The National Council is now focused on planning, prioritizing and executing. This includes evaluating and prioritizing programs and projects to create capacity for volunteers and staff to focus on strategic planning. Simultaneously, the National Council also is evaluating the organizational model. Given the growth of the organization over the past several years, they have revised the division structure to ensure support of our collegiate chapters. This will be a short-term change for this coming biennium; additional modifications may be necessary as the strategic planning process continues. Watch for more details in the coming months our vision: Kappa Delta Sorority is committed to providing opportunities and experiences that build confidence and inspire women to action.
